Rahul attacks the Center over the peasant movement, said - this 'government of lies and suit-boots'
New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday targeted the central government against the backdrop of farmers' protests against three central agricultural laws, accusing it of being a 'government of lies and suit-boots'.
Sharing a video of the farmers' demonstration, Rahul tweeted, "It was said that the income of the farmer will be double." But 'friends' have quadrupled and farmers have halved.' The Congress leader alleged, "This is a government of lies, loot, suit-boot".
It is noteworthy that the government's proposal to set up a committee to look into the concerns of 35 farmers' organizations protesting against the new central agricultural laws was turned down by the farmers representatives on Tuesday.
The long meeting with senior government ministers and officials on Tuesday was inconclusive. A large number of farmers have been protesting near Delhi for the last one week demanding the withdrawal of these laws.
