Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi Of 'Destabilising' Kamal Nath Govt

Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for destabilising an elected government in Madhya Pradesh. In his first reaction to senior leader and four term MP Jyotiraditya Scindia's exit from the Congress, Rahul Gandhi in a post on Twitter, sought to remind PM Modi that while he was busy destabilising an elected government, oil prices had crashed globally. He added that the benefits of cheaper oil had not been passed to the people of the country.

In his tweet the Wayanad MP said "Hey @PMOIndia, while you were busy destabilising an elected Congress government, you may have missed noticing the 35% crash in global oil prices. Could you please pass on the benefit to Indians by slashing #petrol prices to under Rs. 60 per litre? Will help boost the stalled economy."

Rahul Gandhi's criticism of the Centre over crude oil prices which dropped sharply earlier this week and his targeting of PM Modi in the same breath over the Madhya Pradesh crisis is his first reaction to his former close confidante, Jyotiraditya Scindia's resignation on Tuesday from the Congress.

Oil prices crashed globally on Monday by more than 30%, the highest since the 1991 Gulf war. India hopes to gain significantly from this slashing of oil prices.

Rahul Gandhi criticised PM Modi over the economy and not passing on the benefits of cheaper oil prices worldwide to Indian consumers.
