Rs 95 crore spent in Telangana to decrease fluoride in water: Centre

New Delhi/ Hyderabad: Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat here on Thursday said that the Central government had worked hard to improve the quality of drinking water in fluoride-affected areas in Telangana State.
In Lok Sabha, when TRS MP Ranjith Reddy questioned on how many fluoride-free centres have been set up in Telangana, the minister said the Centre has set up 120 free habitation centres in Rangareddy district.
He also stated that from the fiscal year 2017, the government has given Rs 700.23 crore.
Niti Aayog has spent Rs 1,000 crore in the country out of this Rs 94.58 crore is spent in Telangana to decrease the fluoride percentage in water, he said.
