Sanjeeva Matandoor: Congress-JD (S) coalition has failed the people of Karnataka
MANGALURU: Sanjeeva Matandoor, Puttur MLA and president of district unit of BJP, had noted that, on the 21st of May, the Congress-JD(S) coalition government will be completing a year, but it has completely failed the people of Karnataka. H D Kumaraswamy the Chief Minister who declared himself to be a 'circumstantial child' of circumstances before, has become busy in resorts and his cabinet colleagues are jetting abroad on vacations leaving people to face the issues to their own fate.
On Monday, Matandoor told the reporters, while accusing the government of 'divine neglect' of issues, that this feeling has been amplified in the district as well. "People are wondering if there is a district minister," he said.
Due to water shortage, people are on the verge of migrating, farmers are ruining their fate on seeing arecanut plantations wilting, he said.
Paschimavahini which was announced by the government as a reform measure to meet drinking and irrigation needs of the district within the budget has also been a non-starter in the past one-year, he said.
The government has also failed to hand over power to the urban local bodies, elections to which was conducted more than 10 months ago. The government has also failed to compensate the areca nut growers who have suffered losses worth of Rs 60 crore, he said.
