Scindia Pushed To The Brink By Seniors: Shiv Sena Mouthpiece Saamana
Mumbai: Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana blamed seniors in the Congress party for pushing Jyotiraditya Scindia to the brink and forcing him to join the BJP. In an editorial, the Sena mouthpiece said that Jyotiraditya Scindia led the Congress from the front during the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh held towards the end of 2018. Saamana however, had a word of praise for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath saying that he is an old warhorse who has fought many a battle and will not yield ground easily.
Saamana also blamed the Congress high command for remaining indifferent to the situation unfolding in Madhya Pradesh. It observed that with its casual attitude, the Congress has itself to blame, and the BJP need not pat itself on the back for this political crisis in MP.
The Saamana editorial also said that both the demands put forth by Jyotiraditya Scindia were not unreasonable and the Congress leadership could have mollified him by yielding to what he sought.
The Sena mouthpiece alluded to the power struggle between the older generation of Congressmen and younger leaders and referred to the underlying tension between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan in this context. If the political tug of war is not resolved, a similar situation could develop in Rajasthan, Saamana cautioned the Congress.
The Shiv Sena media voice also took the opportunity to assert that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government in Maharashtra was a strong fortress which could not be breached.
