Shaheen Bagh: Govt Ready For Structured Talks With Protesters
Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday morning took to the microblogging site, Twitter to extend an olive branch to protesters at the Shaheen Bagh site staging a sit-in for over 50 days against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the national capital. He asserted that the BJP led government was ready to hold structured discussions with the demonstrators and was also prepared to clear their doubts.
This is the first time that the Union government has extended responded positively to the protests at Shaheen Bagh against CAA.
Government is ready to talk to protestors of Shaheen Bagh but then it should be in a structured form and the @narendramodi govt is ready to communicate with them and clear all their doubts they have against CAA. pic.twitter.com/UjGikFN8tY

So far, BJP leaders have been dismissive of protests at Shaheen Bagh and have described them as manufactured. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders have used the Shaheen Bagh protests against the Congress and AamAadmi Party (AAP) in their election campaign.
It remains to be seen how protesters of Shaheen Bagh respond to the Union Law Minister's post and whether they will be represented by members of political parties or will act independently.
