Bengaluru : The Mayor was startled as the 30 minute visit of hers ended up in a nuisance where the dogs rushed at her, soon after which department officials of the Animal Husbandry tried to snatch the stubborn dogs in the area, one of which took shelter right under the Mayor's car. "It took almost 5 mins and 3 officials to get hold of the dog. After the school inspection, this incident brought up fear in the Mayor's mind to get into the car," said an official.

The Mayor visited the four year old, who had been administered with 15 injections after the attack in the prior week. She had been brought to the Rose garden, Neelasandra as there was no place to accommodate many visitors.

Seven dogs were caught, out of which few escaped and the rest were vaccinated under the Animal Birth Control Programme.

Upon visitation it came to light that there was a woman staying illegally on the premises, feeding the stray dogs from the mid-day-meals served to the school children. She has been staying there since, after the passing of her husband who worked there as a security guard.

Dr. Shashi kumar, Incharge Joint Director of the Animal Husbandry Department said, that there was a serious threat to children as they were almost 20 dogs in and around the campus.

The officials were ordered to pick the stray dogs and help the woman move out of the premises as soon as possible.
