With this, the way for the construction of the new Parliament House has been cleared. While giving its verdict on Tuesday, the Supreme Court said that there is no flaw in the environmental clearance and other permissions for this project, In such a situation, the government can move forward with its project. The court has said that there is no problem in changing land use.
The Supreme Court said that the government can do new parliament and other construction proposed under this project. The court has ordered anti-smog towers and anti-smog guns to be installed at the construction site. The court has said that the material used for construction should be according to environmental regulations. The Ministry of Environment is also going to issue such new rules for future construction works.
This decision is a majority decision. In this case, the court has given a decision with 2: 1. Justice Sanjeev Khanna has given a different opinion in the case. He said that 'I agree on the project award issue. However, I disagree with the decision to change land use, For this, there should be prior approval of the Heritage Committee. He has sent this issue to the Heritage Conservation Committee.
The Supreme Court reserved judgment on the petitions challenging the validity of Central Vista. The court had to decide whether the project was in accordance with law or not. The court had said that no construction work or sabotage can be done till it gives its verdict. However, the court gave permission for the symbolic foundation, after which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament House on 10 December.
