Islamabad: Two Indian High Commissioner staff members have been missing in Pakistan since Monday morning. The two staffers are said to have been missing over the last few hours as per reports coming in on Monday morning.

Over the past few weeks relations between India and Pakistan on the diplomatic front have hit a new low after two Pakistani spies working in the Delhi High Commission were caught red-handed in a sting operation. The two staffers were caught in possession of sensitive documents at a roadside eatery while they were meeting an Indian contact in a widely publicised incident which led to the expulsion of both Pakistani staffers described as Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) spies.

Pakistan since then has been harassing Indian diplomats and staffers at the Indian high commission in Islamabad. India had objected to Pakistan's aggressive tailing of Indian diplomats including the Charge D' Affaires of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, Gaurav Ahluwalia. The Indian diplomat's vehicle was chased by a member of Pakistan's ISI. Media reports stated that ISI had also placed a number of persons in cars and bikes outside his house in an attempt to harass and intimidate him.

The latest incident comes as a culmination of Pakistan's reaction to the expulsion of the two of its diplomatic staffers caught spying in Delhi.

The Ministry of external affairs has not yet reacted to the case of the two missing staffers officially. Media reports say, however that India is officially pursuing the matter with Pakistan.
