UP government to sign MoUs with industry associations to create 10 lakh jobs for migrant workers
The Uttar Pradesh Government is set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with many industries associations to ensure employment of 9.5 lakh skilled and semi-skilled manpower. It is going to be a major breakthrough when it comes to generating employment opportunities for migrant workers. UP has seen an inflow of around 26 lakh migrants.
MSME department of the state will sign the MoUs with the Indian Industries Association (IIA) and the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) today in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The effort will give a boost to the MSME sector in the state.
State MSME Minister Sidharth Nath Singh has said that the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under which this agreement is being signed will help in fulfilling the dream of many migrant labourers.
Under this agreement, Indian Industries Association has asked for 5 lakh workers while National real estate Development Council asked for 2.5 lakh and CII has asked for 2 lakh workers.
The agencies will also ensure short-term training or apprenticeship to skilled migrant workers. The government looks to provide apprenticeship allowances to workers.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started the mission for migrant workers with the motto of 'Har Hath Ho Kam, Har Ghar Mein Rojgar' which translates to be - work to every hand and Employment to every house.
The government is creating special software for the generation of employment, which will be generated in accordance with the skill of migrant workers and the need of the industrial units. Industries sector is also energized with the initiatives of Chief Minister and offering every help to provide employment to the migrant labours.
