Uproar In Lok Sabha As Health Minister Slams Rahul Gandhi's Remarks On PM
New Delhi: Dramatic scenes marred the proceedings of the Lok Sabha on Friday morning following Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan's criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr Harshvardhan called for an unequivocal condemnation of Rahul Gandhi's language against the Prime Minister.
Dr Harsh Vardhan described the Wayanad MP's remarks against the Prime Minister as outlandish, leading to a ruckus in the Lower House of the Parliament. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, adjourned the house till 1 PM amidst noisy scenes.
At an election rally in the national capital on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi had said that the youth of the country would beat the Prime Minister with sticks in six months' time on the issue of unemployment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi retorted in the Lok Sabha during his reply to the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address to Parliament, observing that he would increase the number of Surya Namaskars which he was doing to strengthen his back (to take assault with sticks). He also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi, referring to the Wayanad MP indirectly as a tube light.
The Health Minister's reference on Friday to Rahul Gandhi's comments, is indicative of the fact that the BJP is not prepared to let go of the issue and has decided to attack the Wayanad MP for his remarks.
