Vikas Dubey case: UP police announces reward for information on Vikas Dubey brother
Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Police has announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for information on Deep Prakash Dubey, brother of gangster Vikas Dubey. The reward on Deep Prakash Dubey was announced on Tuesday. The UP Police said that Deep Prakash Dubey was aware of his brother's activities and has been absconding after the Kanpur ambush.
A case has also been filed against Deep Prakash Dubey at Krishna Nagar Kotwali, police said. Vikas Dubey, the prime accused in the killing of eight policemen in Kanpur's Bikru village on July 3, was killed in an encounter on July 10.
Eight policemen, including DSP Devendra Mishra, were murdered in Bikru village in Chaubeypur area of Kanpur when they were going to arrest Dubey and fell to bullets fired from rooftops shortly after midnight on July 3.
Vikas Dubey was killed in the encounter in the morning of July 10 when a police vehicle carrying him from Ujjain to Kanpur met with an accident and he tried to escape from the spot in Bhauti area, as per police records. Four policemen, including an inspector posted in Nawabganj, were injured in the accident.
