Weather report: Southwest Monsoon hits Kerala coast today

The southwest monsoon hits the coast of Kerala today. The Director-General of the Indian Meteorological Department, Mruthyunjai Mohapatra issued a statement to this extent. It is clear that the southwest monsoon has entered India along the Kerala coast. While the Southwest monsoon season, which boosts the agro-based economy of the country, first touches the southern tip of Kerala, usually in the first week of June, the leave from Rajasthan by September. According to meteorological officials, the country will receive 75 per cent rainfall from June to September.

In fact, on Saturday, the private meteorological agency Skymet announced the arrival of the monsoon, but the Indian Meteorological Department disagreed with the news, saying the monsoon had not yet hit the Kerala coast. Meanwhile, the weather department said in April that the monsoon is going to be average this time. Rainfall of 96 to 100% this time is considered normal monsoon.

With this, there could be slight rainfall in the parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and southern regions.
