Woman murdered, boyfriend held by police in TN
Coimbatore: In an incident, a woman was murdered by her former boyfriend, who confessed the crime during the police investigation. According to sources, Ramesh and his wife Thirumangai (33) form Ramapudur in Namakkal district, who got married five months ago. Recently, two days ago, Thirumangai told her husband that she is going to a temple in Mohanur along with her relatives. Later, she had not returned to the home.
On Thursday, the locals found her dead body lying in the bushes near Amaravathi river in Tiruppur and informed the police. Based on the mobile phone data, the police traced the details of the deceased woman and took Dhanpal (24) of Ammanpettai in Salem into their custody.
During the investigation, the accused revealed that Thirumangai uses to run a tiffin centre at night time in Namakkal where she becomes friend with Dhanpal who was a JCB driver. Later, she got married to Ramesh. Over which Dhanpal developed hatred towards her.
In this context, he phoned her and said to meet him. Beliving him, she visited Dhanpal, where both went near the bank of Amaravathi river and killed her by strangulating with a dupatta. After which, he dumped her body into bushes and left the spot. Dhanpal admitted the crime and the police arrested him.
