New Delhi: A delegation of YSRCP MPs' led by its Parliamentary Party leader V Vijaysai Reddy here on Friday met the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, to seek disqualification of its Narsapuram MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju on grounds of indulging in anti-party activities.

The delegation presented a letter to the Speaker, detailing Raju's anti-party activities and his public utterances and statements against the party and his false allegations. His public conduct was smacked of anti-YSRCP attitude and hence he did not deserve to continue as an MP, the MPs' said. It claimed later that the Speaker gave them an assurance of acting on the complaint.

The delegation sought action against Raghu Rama Krishna Raju for his frequent remarks in the recent times against the party and party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Addressing a press conference after meeting the Lok Sabha Speaker, Rajya Sabha MP Vijaysai Reddy said, "We have sought disqualification of Narasapuram MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju.

Anti-Defection law will be applicable against the MP. He has lost his moral values. He is behaving like an Opposition party member within the ruling party."

He sought to remind that Raghurama Krishna Raju was always given a prominent place in the party but he not only disregarded that but has even been hobnobbing with other parties.

The YSRCP party had served a show-cause notice on the MP on June 23 and asked him to reply within a week.

The notice sought an explanation from the controversial MP on his alleged anti-party activities and false allegations made against his own party's MLAs.

Stung by the show-cause notice, the Narsapuram MP gave his explanation but the disciplinary committee did not find it satisfactory, leading to Friday's move of approaching the Lok Sabha Speaker for his disqualification.

Vijaysai Reddy said Raghu Rama Krishna Raju had been pursuing a protest manifesto of imaginary issues against his parental party due to his attitude problems. He had assumed several things against others in the party and adopted an inimical stance towards them.

Perhaps, he was seeking some personal benefits and was attacking the party day in and day out.

Other MPs Mithun Reddy, Bharat M, Lavu Krishnadevarayalu and Nandigam Suresh accused Raju of playing into the hands of vested interests and harming party interests.

The TTD lands controversy which Raju was referring to had been put to rest by the YSRCP government long ago and Raju had no role in safeguarding the TTD interests. The dissident could as well resign and contest again to prove his stature, they suggested.
