Hyderabad: Appealing to all political parties to respect the aspirations of people and address the issues and demands raised by Seemandhra people according to Constitutional provisions, representatives of various social organizations, legal experts and intellectuals said the very objective of the formation of the Telangana is to achieve social justice by providing political opportunities to the oppressed communities and Dalits in the separate state.

Participating in a debate named ‘ Akankshalu- Andolanalu’ ( Aspirations and Concerns) organized jointly by HMTV and The Hans India on Monday, the representatives from social organizations – Samajika Rayalaandhra , Samjika Telangana Mahasabha, Samajika Jai Andhra Mahasabha and Samajika Rayalaseema Samithi -- U Sambasiva Rao, K Mallanna, Ch Sudhakar and Sheshuphani (Respectively) said the agitation against the bifurcation of state in Seemandhra region was the result of the failure of all political parties in allying the apprehensions raised by non- Telangana people on the division of state . The persisting crisis in the state would have been avoided if the political parties stuck to their stand taken before the Congress announced formation of Telangana, they felt.

They alleged that the political parties changed their positions on Telangana for electoral gains after the CWC endorsed creation of Telangana. As the political parties’ role in the process of formation of Telangana was very much important at the crucial juncture, they said every party should spell out it’s stand on Telangana again and help to carve out the state without any difficulty in the coming days.

NALSAR University Professor M Sridhar and Osmania University Professor Chennabasvaiah said the Centre should announce an action plan to bifurcate the state. They said the ongoing united Andhra agitation was the handiwork of political parties which have their own political interests in the next general election. The participants said that if the dalits and other oppressed communities were not given power in the Telangana state, the very purpose of the creation of creating separate state will be defeated.
