Vijayawada: The rush of Bhavani devotees on Indrakeeladri for Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment increased on the second day Monday. The officials estimated that over 60,000 devotees visited Kanakadurga temple atop Indrakeeladri and relinquished the Deeksha.

Attired in traditional red dress, the devotees thronged temple since early morning and the rush continued till 11 pm. The temple administration made elaborate arrangements for darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga.

Temple Executive Officer A Surya Kumari monitored the arrangements. Police Commissioner D Gowtam Sawang along with Joint Commissioner of Police B Ramana Kumar, DCPs Kanti Rana and Gajarao Bhupal inspected the security arrangements on Monday night.

The Commissioner inspected the security in queue line, premises of Mahamandapam, Arjuna Veedhi and other nearby areas. The Police Commissioner enquired about the police staff and instructed the officials to deploy more staff if needed. The five-day Bhavani Deeksha will conclude on December 14.
