Heavy rain to lash north coastal AP
Hyderabad: In a warning to Andhra Pradesh, the Met department bulletin said on Friday that thunderstorm with gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of Andhra Pradesh on June 23.
The bulletin said on June 26 heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in north coastal Andhra Pradesh under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over the west-central and its adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal which now lies over north-west Bay.
On Friday thunderstorms with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in all the districts of the State. The Southwest Monsoon was normal in coastal Andhra and weak in Rayalaseema. Rain occurred at a few places in the coastal districts and at isolated places in Rayalaseema.
The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Gudivada (Krishna), Paderu (Vishakhapatnam) 5 each, Gantyada, Mentada, Srungavarapukota (all in Vizianagaram) 4 each, Gajapathinagaram (Vizianagaram), Venkatagiri (Nellore), Yelamanchili (Vishakhapatnam), Penagaluru (Kadapa) 3 each, Bondapalle (Vizianagaram), Narsipatnam (Vishakhapatnam) 2, Merakamudidam, Vepada (both in Vizianagaram), Kodur, Lakkireddipalle (both in Kadapa) 2 each.
