Amaravati core city master plan by Singapore

Inviting bids for the consultants to set up a master plan for the 1,734 square km Vijayawada-Guntur region, the AP Capital Region Development Authority in a significant development will exclude the core city and extended region of the capital.

Principal Secretary municipal administration and urban development A. Giridhar stated that the Singapore government will only be presenting the detailed master plan for the new capital city and not the other cities like Vijayawada, Guntur and towns like Tenali and Mangalgiri in the capital region.

Covering around 7,068 square km with 58 mandals, including 220 sq km of capital, the APCRDA official stated that the detailed master plan is being prepared for Vijayawada, Guntur and Tenali. Development boundaries are being identified which will contain urbanization preventing urban sprawl for an area of 1,734 square km and the remaining 5,114 square kms master plan is expected to be completed soon, said the CRDA official.

The bidding will continue on May 28.
