The department of English of Gudlavalleru Engineering College (GEC) is going to organise a training workshop on ‘Task Based Language Teaching’ on July 16 at their campus. English Language Teaching centre director P Ramanujam will facilitate the workshop, said department head, M Vijaya Lakshmi.
The department of English of Gudlavalleru Engineering College (GEC) is going to organise a training workshop on ‘Task Based Language Teaching’ on July 16 at their campus. English Language Teaching centre director P Ramanujam will facilitate the workshop, said department head, M Vijaya Lakshmi.
In a release to the media, it is mentioned that the workshop aims to empower the English faculty of colleges and universities. TBLT focuses on expressing different communicative meanings by deploying grammatical knowledge. It connects classroom language learning with language use outside the classroom besides providing an opportunity to the learners to focus on the learning process.
At the workshop, insightful understanding of TBLT by working through different tasks and traditional language exercises will be developed. Participants will gain hands-on experience in designing tasks and task sequences which can be used in their own classrooms, added Vijaya Lakshmi.
Participation fee is Rs 500 per person and Rs 250 for the sister concern colleges and institutes of the GEC. Interested faculty in the department of English can enroll their names for participating in the workshop. For further details, one can ring 9989622811.
