The Ham Radio Training Centre conducted a training programme at SRR and CVR Government College in the city on Sunday. Speaking after inaugurating the programme, SRR College principal V Ravi exhorted students to pursue Ham Radio as a hobby and become licensed operators as it comes in handy in establishing vital communication links in emergencies and natural calamities.
The principal and the faculty members also attended the training programme along with students. T Nageswara Rao, an English lecturer of the college who is an active Ham Radio member for the past two decades, explained the operation of Ham Radio. After the end of the training session, participation certificates were presented to all the trainees.
They need to pass an examination to become a licensed Ham Radio operator. Head of Department of Physics DVS Bhaskara Prasad, faculty members R Kameswari, G Tirupataiah, TV Rambabu and others were present. Arza Ramesh Babu, coordinator of Ham Radio Training Centre, conducted the programme.
