Potti Sriramulu Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao College of Engineering & Technology here organised ‘An Interaction on Career Development’ on Monday. Oommen Cherian, Vice-President, Cloud Service, America’s Customer Management and Global Function exhorted the students that goals could be achieved through systematic hard work.
Srivatsan Santhanam, Senior Director, Oracle Managed Cloud Services, said that the Oracle was providing the required services to various organisations across the globe. Oracle, which started its services in 2005 in India, has been progressing very rapidly due to the availability of infrastructural facilities it possesses. He also informed that oracle was recruiting students from various colleges through campus interviews.
He elaborated on important tips to students on shaping their career. Analytical skills, communication skills, the attitude of service etc would certainly place students at the zenith of their success. Continuous internal training was being given to employees to update their skills. He also added over five lakh students were being trained by their organisation across India at present.
Srinivas Pochiraju, Senior Director Management, Oracle Cloud Services explained in detail their recruitment process and also the various products of Oracle. Later, the students participated very enthusiastically in the interaction with the Oracle Group. Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao, in his address, thanked the Oracle Group for giving an opportunity to the students to participate in the interaction.
Dr K Nageswara Rao, principal, in his message, exhorted the students to update themselves in the technological advancements so that they become industry fit. On this occasion, economically weak and meritorious students were provided with laptops and dresses, which were sponsored by Kothamasu Venkateswara Rao, treasurer, Datta Subba Rao, Managing Committee Member and Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao respectively.
Gopisetty Mallaiah, General Secretary and Correspondent, Ananda Ram Sudhakar, Vice-President, Sriram Radha Krishna Murthy, Secretary, faculty and students participated in the event. There was an interactive session with the Oracle team and the students. The Oracle team members informed that the company spends $6.2 billion annually for the R and D to be at the number 1 spot.
