Kakinada: Seeking postponement of the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) date, candidates to appear for the exam stormed to the Collectorate here on Thursday.

Thousands of TET and DIET (District Institutes of Education and Training) appearing candidates gathered and raised slogans against the government demanding that the government bring back the old pattern for the exams.

They expressed their discontent over the unexpected decision of the government on TET exam by staging a dharna at the venue. The students opined that the TET exam were to be conducted every six months but the government made a sudden announcement exam date which was paused since 2012.

They wanted the government to allow the DIET CET 2015-16 and 2017-18 candidates for the upcoming DSC (District Selection Committee) exam. Police rushed to the Collectorate blocked the students at the main entrance. The students threatened to intensify agitation if the government does do them justice. Thousands of students participated in the agitation in response to the call given by SFI.
