Rally against inclusion of Boya Valmikis into STs

Kakinada: The Mandal Tribal Association members conducted a rally against the inclusion of the Boya Valmiki community into Scheduled Tribe at the Kunavaram here on Wednesday.
Speaking on this occasion, MPP Komaram Pentayya said that Boyas were the backward social class in the Rayalaseema districts.

He further said that it was contrary to the constitutional inspiration to include these castes into the most backward classes like Adivasis. He expressed his displeasure over the inclusion and said that it was a treacherous act of the government to include Boya Valmikis into Aadivasis.

Earlier, they conducted a rally from Tekulaboru village to the mandal headquarters Kunavaram. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Kunavaram Tahsildar.
