Set up top govt edn institutions in Amaravati: UTF

Vijayawada: MLC Boddu Nageshwara Rao and Andhra Pradesh United Teachers Federation (UTF) state president, Shiak Babji and general secretary, P Babu Reddy released the diary of the federation here on Sunday. 

On this occasion, they demanded that the government establish government schools, colleges, medical engineering, IIT, NIT, IIBM and other top education universities in new capital, Amaravati. The UTF would conduct rallies and protests on January 29 demanding the immediate resolution of the grievances by the government.

They insisted that the government withdraw 2017 self financed schools Act to avoid encouragement of corporate institutions and allot 30 percent of the budget to the education sector. While wishing for the old pension scheme to be continued, they asked the govrnment to bring model and gurukul schools into one umbrella. Futher demands included that the teachers be given only teaching work and the government to allot a computer teacher each for all the schools in the state.
