Nutritionist warns against obesity
Kakinada: Noted nutritionist, Pardha Saradhi on Wednesday said that the pandemic of obesity is hereditary. Addressing an awareness programme on obesity at the Boat Club Walkers’ Association hall, Pardha Saradhi said, “A person is considered to be obese when his or her ratio to their height and weight measures exceeds 30.
” He further informed that lack of proper exercise, sitting before television and computer for longer hours, inclusion of steroids drugs would lead to obesity. He said that obesity has subsidiaries like stones in kidneys, blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems.
He advised to stay away from junk foods and not to sleep after immediately after the consumption of food. He further informed that a 40-minute exercise session would help one to stay fit. Adabala Ratna Prasad, Dasari Sridhar, Pilli Raghava Rao, Relangi Bala Raju and others participated in the awareness meet.
