Welfare schemes transparent, claims MLA
Eluru: MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao (Bujji) has said the TDP Government is implementing its welfare schemes transparently to benefit the poor.
Speaking in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru meeting held at Asokavardhani Municipal School in 28th division on Thursday, he said that the Government had introduced a biometric system to sanction pensions to the eligible beneficiaries receiving the amount by the fifth day of every month.
The MLA explained the welfare and development activities taken up by the TDP Government. “I have been extending financial assistance to poor students for their education. In the past year alone, I have given Rs 20 lakh to the poor students,” he declared.
Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan said that the Municipal Corporation was developing the city in a planned manner and agenda was set to make Eluru a Smart City. She said that Rs 1.5 crore worth development works were taken up in Ashok Nagar area in the 28th division.
Deputy Mayor Nayudu Pothuraju, presiding over the meeting, said that some people in the division did not have the necessary papers for tax, thereby posing a difficulty to the bankers. He requested the MLA to take necessary steps in this issue. The MLA and Mayor distributed Rs 5 lakh bank loan to Rajiv Self-Help Group, old age and widow pensions, Chandranna Sankranti Kanuka and Chandranna Bheema documents on the occasion.
