‘Care of in-laws responsibility of daughter-in-law’

Kakinada: “Any married person can ask for a divorce, if his wife forces him to leave the in-laws, who are dependents of their children,” said noted advocate Yanamala Ramam here on Wednesday.

Speaking at a legal awareness meeting held at the Boat Club Park, he said that all the parents raise their children with love and care but after marriage, the male children suffer mentally and emotionally, caught between the parents and the wife. 
 He further said that according to laws and ethics, the children should take care of their old parents. 

“If the children ignore parents, they can approach the court. In-laws can’t be arrested according to the domestic violence act. Taking care of the in-laws is the responsibility of the daughter-in-law,” he added. Adabala Ratna Prasad, Dasari Sridhar, Pilli Raghava Rao, Pardha Saradhi, M Subba Rao and others participated in the meeting.
