IEEE holds workshop on digital libraries

Chirala: St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology in Chirala organised a workshop on the importance of digital libraries in present day researches, on Wednesday. College secretary Vanama Ramakrishna Rao and correspondent S Lakshmana Rao in a statement said that the HoDs, students, staff from various departments attended the workshop.

The college principal Dr P Ravi Kumar said that the workshop was conducted with the cooperation of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). “Akshaya Prasanna Kumar, from IEEE New Delhi participated in the workshop and explained about the digital libraries and their importance to the students.” Ravi Kumar added that research activities would help in the growth of society and the digital libraries would provide the required information easily with fewer efforts.

Dr C Subbarao, director of the accreditations said that the digital libraries were playing a key role in the academic and research activities. “One can understand the trend in researches by saving time and resources,” he said. Dr K Jagadeesh Babu, HoD of ECE said that with the use of digital classrooms, the students could upgrade their knowledge.
