SI asks youth to choose sports over cockfights
Mogallu: Palakoderu Sub-Inspector I Venkateswara Rao called upon the youth to avoid cockfights and gambling and indulge in games and sports like cricket, kabaddi and kho-kho.
Industrialist and Lakshmi Flow Aerators proprietor, Rudraraju Krishna Varma and Venkateswara Rao inaugurated the Alluri Sitaramaraju Memorial Cricket Tournament at ONGC Grounds in Mogallu village, the birthplace Alluri Sitarama Raju on Wednesday.
The tournament was organised jointly by SFI, DYFI, AIDWA and KVPS. Varma won the toss and batted for some time. Venkateswara Rao expressed that bad habits lead to the destruction of the future of youth. Krishna Varma called upon the people to give importance sports along with cultural programmes on Pongal. “The efforts of SFI, DYFI, KVPS and AIDWA would help youth show their hidden talent,” he pointed out.
DYFI leaders K Kranti Babu, Pedapati Manikantha, Raju, Sambrani Satyanarayana, Dodda Yesu Prasad, Vattikuti Mahendra, Chitturi Lakshman, Vanka Sivaramakrishna and others participated in the inaugural programme.
