Mega grounding mela held at the IGM stadium

Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) organised a Mega Grounding Mela at the IGM stadium here on Friday.

Mayor Koneru Sridhar, who graced the event, said, “As part of Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme, various kinds of pensions were disbursed to beneficiaries at the Mega Grounding Mela 2018.” 

He said training programmes were conducted for the youth at different places. After successful completion of the training programme, the youth were given bank loans to establish their own businesses.

He said that DWCRA groups of 59 divisions were provided financial aid without any surety.
Commissioner J Nivas said that Self-Help Groups (SHGs) belonging to SC/ST/ BC/Kapu and minorities were given bank linkage, interest-free loans and revolving funds.

MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said that the government was providing security through various development and welfare schemes to uplift the weaker sections of the society. 
Women were given interest-free loans under welfare schemes. The government was providing training programmes to earn at least Rs 10,000 per month.Deputy Mayor, G Venkata Ramana and others were present.
