Cultivate habit of meditation: Swamiji
Vijayawada: Pujyasri Sampuoornanadagiri Swamiji said that every human being must cultivate the habit of meditation. Samskriti Samrakshana Mandali organised the discourses on ‘Hidnu dharma and Upanishattulu’ at Sri Sivaramakrishna Kshetram (Ramakoti).
On the concluding day, Swamyji commented on the present condition of society and tried to give solutions. During the five-day discourse, Pujyasri Sampuoornanadagiri Swamiji said that Adi Shankara had mentioned in his commentary on the Katha and Brihadaranyaka Upanishad about the meaning for the word ‘Aatmavidyaa’ is the ‘knowledge of the self or ‘knowledge of Brahma’.
Sankaracharya had also written commentary for other Upanishads namely Aitareya, Chaandogya, Kena, Taittiriya, Svetaasvatara, Maitrayani, Isha, Manduka and Prashna. All the Upanishads are associated with one Veda ie, Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda and Atharvanaveda.
Swamiji said that meditation was main solution to get peace in the present materialistic life. He also explained how to concentrate ourselves and get peace. He stressed the need of values and ‘aaradhana’. Without these two one cannot achieve salvation. Swamyji advised all the human beings to cultivate the habit of helping others, keep devotion on god.
By the end of the discourse, Swamyji made all the gathering to render some lines like ‘Dharma should be protected’, ‘Satyam to be upheld’ and others. In fact, it is great to made people to render this kind of moral lines to create positive vibrations in and around the people.
Public gathered in the auditorium opined that it was necessary to conduct these discourses often not only for the elder generations the younger generation. Machiraju Subrahmanyam and Seeram Subrahmanyam conducted the programme.
