Vidyabharathi state-level sports meet from tomorrow

Ongole: The Andhra Pradesh Vidyabharathi, which is the guiding star behind 200 plus schools like Saraswati Sishumandir and 250 single teacher schools in agency areas in the state, is organising the state-level sports meet in Ongole from January 19 to 20, announced the committee president Siddha Venkateswara Rao.

Releasing the brochure for the sports meet at the Andhrakesari Vidyakendram in Ongole on Wednesday, Siddha Venkateswara Rao said that the Vidyabharathi organization was running 32,000 schools in the country and helping the boys and girls excel in sports and games also along with the education. He said that about 190 IPS and 247 IAS officials were their students. The Ongole Andhrakesari Vidyakendram is organising this year’s sports meet with nearly 800 students from various schools on January 19 and 20 on the NextGen International School premises, he added.

The winners in the 56 varieties of games and sports would participate in the three state tournament and the winners there participate in the nationwide sports meet, said Venkateswara Rao. As per the schedule, district judge Priyadarsini would inaugurate the sports meet in the morning and the prizes would be distributed in the evening.

Minister Siddha Raghavarao would participate in the valedictory function on the next day, said the secretary of the committee CV Ramakrishna Rao, AKVK degree college principal Kandimalla Purnachandrarao, Junior college principal AV Ramanaiah and others.
