4 fake naxals arrested for extortion
Podili: The Prakasam district police nabbed four fake naxalites who threatened a brick kiln owner for money.
According to the Podili CI M Srinivasa Rao, four persons, Vanapakula Rambabu, Pittala Srinivas, Mandala Ghatesham and Tanduri Rajasekhar from Bhadradri Kothagudem district in Telangana posed themselves as naxalites and threatened to kill the owner of a brick kiln on the way to Rajampalem from Podili, if he didn’t heed to their commands and pay money, on January 15. But after sighting the patrolling police at the same time, they fled away in a Swift Desire car.
After receiving complaint from the kiln owner, the police arrested the four persons and seized the car along with two knives and a dummy revolver. Srinivasa Rao said that the arrested persons had already spent jail term in the similar cases at Warangal, Illendu, Bhupalpalli and Palvoncha in Telangana.
