Apco showrooms will get facelift: Atchannaidu

Vijayawada: Transport Minister K Atchannaidu has said all the Apco showrooms in the state will get a facelift. He inaugurated Apco Amaravati Handloom showroom here on Friday.

Speaking to the media persons on the occasion, he said that the government was taking various development programmes to support the handloom workers. It would give loans up to Rs 50,000 to each handloom worker.

He said that the government would give skill development training through handloom clusters to the handloom workers on latest designs. The government would also give looms free for their livelihood. Loans would be given through Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima Yojana to handloom workers. About 20 percent subsidy would be given to workers for purchase of yarn, he added.

Apco divisional manager T Narasimha Murthy said that the Apco Amaravati showroom was renovated with Rs 50 lakh. ZP Chairperson Gadde Anuradha, MLC P Sunitha, Apco chairman G Srinu, MD I Srinivas and others were present.
