Muslim body accuses DSP of foisting cases on its leader

Vijayawada: The Muslim Aikya Vedika urged the Director General of Police to take action against North Zone DSP Gogineni Sitaramanjaneyulu for “foisting cases and harassing the Vedika state president, Sk Jalil.”

Speaking to the media persons here on Friday, the Vedika legal cell chairman, P Goutham Reddy said Jalil was fighting for the rights and protection of Muslim community and was involved in various service programmes for the uplift of Muslim community through Muslim Aikya Vedika (Anjuman Islamic Committee), AP.

Reddy said DSP Sitaramanjaneyulu had filed four false cases against Jalil and later three of them were dismissed by the court. Jalil was being harassed by the Mangalagiri rural police station SHO to come and sign in the register thrice a week. Reddy demanded that the DGP take action against Mangalagiri DSP.

Reddy further said that earlier, a rowdy sheet was opened against Jalil for voicing on the “illegal land allocation” to Jana Sena Party at Chinnakakani village at Mangalagiri. Sk Jalil who also present at the press meet pleaded that the DGP should take action on the DSP and close all “illegal cases filed on him.”
