Panchayat Secretaries want promotions to eligible

Guntur: A meeting of the Andhra Pradesh State Panchayat Secretaries Association demanded that the government  give promotions  to  eligible secretaries as EORDs immediately. The district panchayat officers were delaying the process, the meeting alleged. As a result, the eligible  panchayat secretaries were disappointing, they lamented.

Addressing AP Panchayat Secretaries Association executive committee meeting held at ZP meeting hall on Sunday, its president YVD Prasad said that when the promotions of seniors were delayed, the juniors were also not getting promotions. He alleged that the DPO office was not sending the list to the Panchayat Raj Commissioner office in the required  format resulting in delay in promotions.

Meanwhile, the work burden was increasing on the panchayat secretaries and reminded that one panchayat secretary was in-charge for two or three panchayats.  He demanded revival of old pension system instead of contributory pension system and urged the secretaries to participate in agitations taken up by any association, which was beneficial to the employees. The association state general secretary GTV Ramana and panchanayat secretaries association leaders were present.
