Students urged to join in fight for SCS
Ongole: The YSR Congress Party students division asked the students to come forward and lead the movement for the Special Category Status (SCS) for the state. The district president of the YSRCP students division Rela Amarnath Reddy said that they would take up a programme to educate the students on SCS by visiting the engineering colleges from Monday.
Amarnath Reddy said that the state government was neglecting the SCS, though it was the right of the state. He said that about 25,000 students were graduating as engineers in the district. But they lacked employment opportunities here. If the state got SCS, there would be no taxes on the fuel, which helps reduce the prices of commodities and increase the purchasing capacity, he opined.
The SCS benefits also help the establishment of more industries and the demand for products creates more jobs in the market, he said. He said that employment generated-development would last long and the student should fight for it. He asked the students to come forward to motivate all political parties and intensify the fight for SCS.
