Measures soon to promote drama: Gummadi

Vijayawada: “Nataka Academy will work to promote and uplift drama in Andhra Pradesh,” said Gummadi Gopalakrishna, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Nataka Academy. The premise of the new office of the academy was inaugurated on at Maruti Nagar here on Monday. Gopalakrishna along with Kandimalla Sambasivarao, vice-chairman said that the academy would work for welfare of artistes.

Gummadi said that they had many plans to promote both the Padya Natakam and also the social plays in Andhra Pradesh. Varla Ramaiah, Chairman of AP State Housing Corporation Limited, Members of Legislative Assembly Gadde Rammohan and Bonda Umamaheswara Rao were present on the occasion and congratulated the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Academy. Senior artists Gopi Naidu, HVRS Prasad, Varikuti Siva Prasad, PVN Krishna, Vemuri Nageswara Sarma, Subbarao, Nageswara Rao, Seeram Subrahmanyam and many artistes were seen at the event.
