Students, parents throng Durga temple

Vijayawada: Thousands of devotees thronged the Durga temple on Monday to mark Sri Panchami. The goddess was attired in Saraswati Devi alankaram on the occasion.

Thousands of students with their parents visited the temple and prayed to the Goddess seeking blessings to get good education. Little children had made Aksharabhyasam with little hands on the slates. Temple priests also helped the children for the Aksharabhyasam. 

The temple administration has made arrangements for Sri Panchami Rush of devotees started at 7 am and continued till the evening as people thronged the temple on the Indrakeeladri. Students entering the temple wearing school uniforms and ID cards were not charged for the darshan queue line.
