Home guards demand salaries on par with TS counterparts

Chirala: The Andhra Pradesh State Home Guards Welfare Association demanded that the state government hike the salaries and provide other benefits on par with their Telangana counterparts.

The association held its state-wide executive committee meeting with the representatives from the 13 districts at the R&B Guest House in Chirala. They discussed about the major issues being faced by them and decided to demand the government for the immediate intervention to solve them.

The association president, Govind demanded that the government provide cashless health cards to the Home Guards in the state and keep the poll promise made by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in 2014. He also asked the government to provide maternity leave to the women guards, increase age for the appointments, provide bus pass, TA and DA to the Home Guards going to long distances on duty.

The association state general secretary, Srinivasa Rao, district president Hanumanta Rao and others also participated in the association meeting.
