Yerra Raising Youth hold athletic meet

Rajamahendravaram: Yerra Raising Youth's one-day athletic meet was conducted on the Government College premises here on Monday with athletic competitions in sports like long jump, high jump and throw ball. The youth organisation has been organising athletic meet from many years.

Inaugurating athletics, Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma advised the students and youth to spare some time every day for athletics, sports and games that increase competitive spirit and also helps to maintain sound health and good physique. Jobs can also be obtained easily under sports quota. 

“A stadium is coming up in the city shortly for sportsmen and the government is encouraging sports sector by giving various subsidies,” he said. The Yerra Raising Youth president, Yerra Venugopala Raidu, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary, deputy mayor Vasireddy Rambabu and corporator Komma Srinivas were present among others.
