BT roads to turn into cement roads soon

Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai has said all the BT roads in the city would be converted to cement roads and an action plan has been devised in this regard.

Participating in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the road here on Wednesday, Sesha Sai said the corporation was spending Rs 53 lakh for laying the road. The corporation has quality of work as its priority and the official directed the engineering department not to compromise in quality.

The road connecting DVB Raju road and AVA road passing through Gangtri apartments was laid as part of the many initiatives by the RMC. All the colonies would be linked with the respective main road of that area. Many development activities were executed since the Godavari Maha Pushkaram of 2015 and many are under progress in the city.

MLC Adireddy Appa Rao underlined the need to convert BT roads as cement road to avoid maintenance expenditure on BT roads and said that sanitation in the city must be given utmost attention. “As the city is fast developing there was a need to develop the roads,” he said. Urban MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana said there was no dearth of funds for laying cement roads and advised the RMC to convert all BT roads into cement roads. Second division corporator P Lakshmi Kumari, officials and others were present.
