Relay fast by BSNL staff begins

Rajamahendravaram: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Employees Association, has commenced its three-day relay hunger strike at Fort Gate here on Thursday, demanding that the BSNL management fulfill their justifiable demands. The protest programme will be continued up to February 3.

Addressing the association members, president IS Rao and secretary PUM Rao said the protest programme was taken up as per the directions of its central committee, to mount pressure on BSNL management for their demands.

The duo demanded that the management sanction 15 percent fitness allowance in third pay revision, to revise pension amount and retain retirement age as 60 years. All the three demands were justifiable and BSNL management was not responding in this regard, even after of repeated reminders of the employees association.

BSNL Employees Association will intensify the agitation if the management failed to fulfill the demands, they warned. They appealed all the association membersto work together in this regard.
