Civic chief takes measures for a pig-free city

Kakinada: The Kakinada Municipal Corporation Commissioner K Siva Parvathi on Friday informed that the corporation had selected a place for all the pigs in the city. City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao convened a meeting with the piggery association members and leaders at the corporation office.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Parvathi assured the association members that the municipal corporation identified a place far from the city where all the pigs can be kept safely. She further urged them to drive all the pigs in the city to that place to make the city pig-free.

The piggery association agreed to drive their pigs away from the civil habitats. Mayor Pavani, KMC Additional Commissioner Srinivasa Rao, Piggery association president Rama Krishna, vice-president Satyanarayana, secretary Nukaraju and the members participated in the meeting.
