Marathon dance festival to attempt record tomorrow

Rajamahendravaram: Bharat Arts Academy general secretary KV Ramana Rao has said that a one-day marathon dance festival ‘Nrutya Bharathi’ will be conducted here on February 4. The festival will be held at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram from 10am to 6pm. The programme will be organised with the aim to enter into Guinness Telugu World Records.

Disclosing the details at a press conference here on Friday, he said that as many as 333 dancers would participate in the programme.  This dance fest would be held under the aegis of Bharat Arts Academy and ABC Foundation. 

Various forms of dances such as Kuchipudi, Bharat Natyam, Andhra Natyam, folk dances etc performed in the dance programme. Earlier, the academy organised many programmes across the country. The academy is putting in serious efforts to protect our tradition and culture by encouraging artistes. Last year, Annamachary Pada Nrutyotsavam programme was held at Tirupati with 555 dancers.

Eminent personalities would participate in the programme. He appealed to the people to enjoy the dance festival.  Earlier, Dr Ramana Rao inaugurated the dance festival brochure.
