Home Guards meet FM for hike in salaries
Kakinada: Seeking a speedy solution to their problems and a hike in their salaries, the District Home Guards Association leaders and members met Finance Minister Yanamala Rama Krishnudu at his camp office in Timmapuram village here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the home guards told that they were facing innumerable problems due to their meager salaries. They explained that nearly 15,000 home guards were working in the state. They were doing duties on par with police constables in the department.
They appealed to the Finance Minister to increase their salaries as per the promise made to all the home guards by the TDP before the Assembly elections. They beseeched the FM to implement a 20 percent reservation in the police constable recruitments. Yanamala assured them that he would review the issue of the home guards.
