Govt keen on educating students on renewable energy

Guntur: Non-conventional Energy Development Corporation donated Rs 1 lakh to the Acharya Nagarjuna University to conduct a seminar on renewable energy to create awareness among the students. The NEDCAP managing director, Kamalakar Babu  gave Rs  1 lakh cheque to the ANU Vice-Chancellor Prof A Rajendra Prasad to conduct  the seminar for the benefit of students and explain significance of renewable energy to the students.

Speaking on this occasion, Kamalakar Babu stressed need to explain significance of renewable energy to the students to create awareness on it. Prof Rajendra Prasad thanked NEDCAP MD for donating Rs 1 lakh for conducting the seminar.

The Central government was giving top priority to the non-conventional energy department and decided to meet 25 per cent of the energy demand by solar power in the next two years. Taking this into consideration, it is encouraging setting up of solar parks and to generate employment to the youth. Following orders of the government, the ANU is imparting training to the Surya Mitras on its campus. Those  who finished training in the programme would get employment. MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, ANU Engineering College of Technology dean Prof Siddaiah were also present.
