Seminar on Internet of Things begins

Vijayawada: The Electronics department of Maris Stella College launched a two-day national seminar- cum- hands on training on ‘Internet of Things (IOT)’ in collaboration with Efftronics Systems private limited here on Wednesday.

The chief guest of the seminar was Efftronics Executive Manager Avinash Dasari who highlighted the significance of IOT technology. He described how IOT disrupted many fields and helped things to become autonomous and smart so as to self-propel, self-driven and self-maintain without human interaction. He said that IOT was working towards a world where physical objects contain embedded technology that can sense, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, the guest of honour and Krishna University principal Prof YK Sundara Krishna said, IOT had a vast scope of job opportunities for the students of electronics, and the job scope on IOT would be in production, marketing, service and programming. He said that the seminar would give awareness to learn the latest technology integrated to IOT with next generation data aware networking. He further informed that students can go for PG and Ph D studies on IOT.

College Electronics HoD KH Anuhya said the seminar would create awareness on IOT and would bridge the gap between the students and the industry. She said that IOT was an interaction of embedded system of physical world. She said students of electronics, computer science, B Tech, M Tech, physics and others can take up IOT. College principal, dignitaries, students, staff and others were present.
