CC cameras for Intermediate exams

Rajamahendravaram: Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) of Board of Intermediate Education Teki Venkateswara Rao, has said that as per the directions of government closed circuit cameras were used in the first and second phase of Intermediate practical examinations. The closed circuit cameras also be used in theory examinations scheduled to be held from February 28 to March 19.

Speaking to ‘The Hans India’ here on Thursday, he said that this year online paper system was introduced for ethics and environmental subject papers. Because of closed circuit cameras, it was easy to the officials to supervise Intermediate practical examinations and also helps even in theory examinations also. The government had sanctioned as many as four closed circuit cameras each for 36 government junior colleges.

Practicals were held at 91 centres and 137 examination centres earmarked for conducting theory examinations. As many as 1,10,197 students would attend Intermediate examinations this year. Of the total, as many as 52,965 will write the first year paper and 57,232 will appear for second year examinations. As many as 292 junior colleges both government and private are functioning in the district.

No applications were received for new colleges so far this year. The BIE gave time to change the names of colleges, shifting of colleges etc up to March 31 only. The BIE Commissioner B Uday Lakshmi introduced the closed circuit cameras system in Intermediate practicals and also to theory examinations for conducting the examintions effectively, he averred.
